An AUP is a document that is signed so that there are certain restrictions to follow and if failure to follow can commit in trouble.
An AUP is used at Glenvar to ensure that there is no game playing and no computer hacking.

E-mail and Instant Messaging are PROHIBITED in school unless specifically authorized by a teacher - That can help students from getting distracted.
Students may NOT remove any part of the computer- That can help from damaging the hardware of the computer.
Students may not use any alternative operating system on the computer- Another OS might not let you do certain things the computer that are necessary.
Studetns must handle and transport laptop responsibly; laptop MUST be in bag when being transported- That cuts down on the hardware damage to the laptop.
Do not download, install, or play GAMES, MUSIC, or VIDEO unless directly related to classroom, instruction- Playing games is a distraction to school-work.

They are necessary for that reason, to keep workers working.
